Dining room refresh

Do you have furniture like this? It's fine--the quality is good, it's sturdy, and it serves the purpose. Then there's the color. Ick. Summer project for me? Fix. This. Furniture.

Dining room hutch, table, and chairs
Before

This is my before photo. Pretty gross, right? It's clean. It is the right size. I don't even mind the style. It's just so...orange. Or red. Or reddish-orange. I set out to make a change.

I watched some videos and bought these products after obsessing over everything @blacksheephouse.

Dining room hutch
Hutch before

Here's a better image of my hutch before. I love this hutch. I bought the whole set from a consignment store and I love the mission style of this hutch in particular. It just needed a little sprucing up, so I used my trusty chalk paint, tinted to the Valspar color "Baltic Birch" (from my @blacksheephouse learning experience) and then I bought some glaze, which I had never used before, and tried to add texture.

Table after and hutch in process

Here's a photo of the table after (same treatment on table top and on hutch) and you can see the hutch in the background, partway through the process.

Hutch mid-way through

Here's the hutch a little further along in the process...

...and here's the final result!

Here's a close-up of the table top and the legs, so you can see that I decided to paint the legs gray with a glaze wash on top.
My biggest regret is that I used a brush for the poly on the table top instead of a foam applicator. The brush marks show, but I'm happy with the color overall. What do you think?
